Craigslist? No, Craigseasy.

It's no secret that Craigslist is my main go-to for sourcing much of the furniture in my home. In fact, it's on my morning to-do list to spend 5-10 minutes looking for anything new and unique. But listen, can I be candid and throw my beloved Craig under the bus for a minute? How unsophisticated can Craig be? Having to click on 75 + listings every morning just to see what's new is a recipe for a serious case of carpel tunnel.

Someone has heard our cries and delivered us out of Craigslist bondage. Introducing Craigseasy, our newest sponsor! It takes all the images from the listings and places them on the same page. Cue clouds parting. With a few simple steps all the images are displayed on the same page for your convenience!

I can't tell you how much time this has saved me! If you're a Craigslist fanatic then Craigseasy will change the way you use Craigslist FOREVER!

Go here.

Here are a few of my favorites I've found on Craigslist with the help of Craigseasy.

Mid-Century style cubes.

Chrome and walnut wood side table.

Dresser I painted yellow.

Pottery Barn style table that we refinished.

Vintage audio / visual cart that my boys use as a nightstand.

Please help!

Hello Readers,
I'm here to ask for your help. I'm applying for a job as the new blog writer of Nature Made's Good Mood Gig. If hired, I will blog on a different blog (as well as continue this blog) about good mood things.

Here's where you come in. In order to get hired I NEED VOTES! No votes, no job. You can vote once a day here. I'm coming to the party a little late so please don't hesitate.

What's in it for you? If I get hired, I'll get a paycheck. If I get a paycheck I can start tackling the gazillion projects in my garage that you've been dying to see. More votes = more creative inspiration for you!

Craigslist dining table...before & after.

We've finished our dining table found on Craigslist and it's actually in the house!
Here it is in it's beginning state.

As I mentioned in mentioned in a previous post the original owners had it sitting in their garage for several years. The table was drier than dry and cracked in several places due to the desert heat but I could see it had good bones.

We first filled in the cracks with with wood filler.

Then gave it a good sanding.

Next, stained the table.

Then applied several (6 to be exact) coats of Verathane with a large paint brush.
Here it is AFTER...

I love the rustic, farmhouse feel of the table. The more wear and tear it receives the better it will look. What I love even more is that it reminds me of something I might see in a Pottery Barn catalogue but I probably paid 1/10th of what their's are priced at.
Bon Appetite!

Change of heart.

How could I not be anything but delighted to have another boy when my life is filled with moments like this?

I just had to know.

Result: Boy.

That's all I will say on the matter.

A few choice words and guest blogging.

This week I'll be participating in a series over at 6th Street Design School on how kids and good design can co-exist.
After I submitted my thoughts on kids and design, this happened...

While on vacation I wandered through Z Gallerie. I happened upon the "sale" section and found a yellow container for 70% off. Score! I had the sales woman wrap it up ever so carefully for it's journey from Salt Lake City to Las Vegas and then Tucson. Everytime anyone opened up the back of the car I barked to be careful of my container.

Then...when unloading the car...my 3 year old jumped in the back of the car under the not so super, supervision of my husband.
Crack.

I said a few choice words in my head and moaned the break of my container.
"It's okay, it's only a thing," I tried to console myself, (but c'mon I had it less than 24 hours).

You know how that conversation goes, right?

So my final contention is that kids and design can co-exist as long as you turn the mishaps to the back where no one can see them.

Leap of faith.

Back from vacation.
How is it that I forgot to bring the camera?
Here's some shots from Uncle Ike.
If only I had just an ounce of his GUSTO for life...

Gimme me a break.

I'm taking the week off for a little rest and relaxation.

On the agenda:
Take in the fall colors, perhaps redeem a gift certificate for a massage I've had for 2years, eat good food and enjoy my family.
No. Work. Allowed.
See you in a week!

Off to the upholsterer.

Remember this wing back chair?
I found it approx. 2 1/2 years ago at an antique store. It was upholstered in dirty, stinky blue fabric. I had it re-upholstered in this white vinyl.

Last year I found an identical chair at a garage sale for $15.00!
Today it's off to the upholsterer.
Plans are to have it match the above one in white vinyl.
I'm thinking positive that Chavez will be able to locate the same vinyl.

I've got big plans for them both.
