My dirty little decorating secret...

If you knew me you'd know that I ltake great pride in the way my house looks, I like to be organized and I'm down right fussy about decor.
Prepare yourselves, I'm about to reveal my dirty little decorating seceret...my bedroom.
This lovely quilt screams style, doesn't it? I put it on the bed after my boys jumped on my lovely white comforter with dirty feet. And can you believe...NO BED SKIRT! GASP! That's been on my to-do list ever since we moved in the house 2 years ago (actually, decorating this entire room has been on my to-do list for the past 2 years).
And yes, a crib in the corner. In my defense, my youngest was still a wee newborn when we first moved in and walking to the other side of the house 15 times in the middle of the night wasn't gonna happen.
Don't you love my in-genius tv stand? It's two night stands stacked on top of the other.

Hi neighbor! I see you peeking at me from your side of the wall. Got to love modern day builders...they really know how to build a house for privacy!

I'm starting to re-think this post about now.

Toys, the coffee table that I grew up with and just can't bear to part with, clutter...this room has it all!
Those are two paint samples on the wall that I was testing out for the room.

The changing table tucked nicely in the corner.

OK, so this room is not bad but it's certainly not on the house tour I give my guests.

This master bedroom has been a catch-all for everything in the house. When you're a mom sometimes things have to be all about function for a while. Plus, Arizona homes have no basements so where do you put all your junk?

Now that I've confessed my least desirable decorating sin I'm ready for change. And change is COMING! We've already cleared the entire room, bought some paint samples, put a few items on Craigslist and we're ready for a homemade Extreme Home (room) Makeover. I've sweet talked my honey and he's ready to tackle this project with me. That was exhausting, now I'm off to bed (which is now sitting directly in the middle of my bare room).

Alaskan Cruise.

Norwegian Star Cruise Ship. We're back from our 7 day cruise to Alaska and Canada! Besides the fact that I still feel like I'm rocking up and down (not so fun), Alaska was the best trip I've ever been on. Thank you to Grandpa John for taking us with him on the Alaskan trip that he's been dreaming of ever since I can remember. Here's a recap...

Naish loved everything but I think his favorite part of the trip was the moving walkway at the airport...go figure!

Matani loved the kids play zone and the waterslide on the ship that he went down at least 100 times despite that it was in the high 40's outside. He also fell in love with the housekeeping girl from the Phillipines who folded a new animal out of towels for him everynight and used mints for eyes.

Mendenhall Glacier.

Glacier ice from Sawyer Bay.

Ketchikan, Alaska.

Prince Rupert, Canada.

Prince Rupert, Canada.

Magic show on the ship.

Seattle, Washing harbor.

Sawyer Bay.

View from the ship.

We made it home just in time to do a couple of fireworks!

My impression of Alaska is that it is an incredibly sacred place. It is still and quiet, pure and clean, virtually untouched by man. I'm ready to go back again.

Picture Wall.

My den is half way done. The other side of the room is perfect. This side is empty. I bought a zillion (20 to be exact) frames a year ago at Aaron Brother's penny sale (buy one frame get another for a penny...[they run that sale in January and July]).
I borrowed my neighbor's laser level and went to work.

I cut out paper the exact size as the frames to play with the placement of them on the wall.

Then I nailed away. My hubby cringed everytime I pounded another hole in the wall. (He just doesn't know good design).

Then I hung away. You can see I don't have any real pictures yet in the frames...that will be next.

This is my dream sofa that will go under all those pictures. It is from Red in Fred. Way out of my price range at this point in my life but a girl can always dream, right?
