Novica review.

I'm not sure a self-photo-portrait was quite what Novica had in mind when they asked me to review some of their items.  (I attempted to have my 7 year old take a decent picture of me but all I got were photos of my forehead).

I'm wearing the Wood Bangle Bracelet (here)
and Mahogany Melody Blouse (here).
You may remember I've talked about Novica in the past.  I just love their line of products but more importantly I love that when you make a purchase you are aiding artisans around the world make an income for themselves.  Their site offers clothing, jewelry, accessories, home decor, international instruments, paintings, handbags, etc.  Here are a few of my favorites...

I swear I saw this Alpaca throw blanket on the Nate Berkus Show recently.

Lacquered Wood Tray.

Valentine's Day Project #3.

I've always loved the Petal Envelope.
Cute and functional all in one.
For this Valentine I took a double sided piece of paper and printed my
template right on it from my computer then folded it up.
Then I grabbed my camera and had some fun.
I don't know what it is about preschool age kids but when you put a camera in from
of them and tell them to smile they look like they're constipated.
I had to really whoop it up to get him to laugh.
Then I uploaded my photo to Picnik, turned it black and white, next went back and used the lipstick feature to color in the heart red then added my text.
I made this petal envlope template which is big enough for a 3.5 square picture (download here).
If you're kids are like mine it's all about the candy so don't forget to add a chocolate heart or something sweet in the envelope.
