Moving day.

This apartment was a 4 month plan...it turned in to 9.
"Bring only the necessities"...we filled a whole lot of boxes with accumulated junk.
"No shoes in the apartment."..the carpet is a mess.
We out.

Back to the Colortopia drawing board.

Tell me you love it.
Tell me it reminds you of the ocean.

I'm just not sure.
It's a big departure from colors I normally work with.
Sometimes you may love a color but it might now work in your space with all kinds of variations of lighting.
Under normal circumstances I ALWAYS test color samples out in my space before I make a commitment.
However, at this point in our renovation...I'm tired and just want to get it done and over with.
As a result, I talked myself in this color...at the paint store...while looking at a tiny little paint chip.
ALWAYS TEST THE COLOR OUT IN YOUR SPACE FIRST!
When will I listen to my own advice?

I originally wanted to paint the door my true love yellow, which I used a lot of in my last
home but I thought I would be adventurous and try blue/green instead (and that flopped).
So now I'm going back to my original gut feeling.
Problem is,this color isn't made anymore.
No problem.
I took this photo and uploaded it to the My Inspiration page on Glidden's My Colortopia.

I hovered the box over the color I wanted paint suggestions for...
and the best matched suggestions are "Spicy Banana Pepper" and "Extra Virgin Olive Oil".

Then I came across these inspiration photos of yellow on
Pinterest.

Same easy process gave me some more great color suggestions.

You can also get some great color advice on the My Colortopia website.

Stay tuned for some possible "Spicy Banana Pepper" in my front door future.

I have been sponsored by Glidden brand paint to write this post but the thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.

Weekly house update.

House is coming along but I'll be honest...I'm completely construction weary.
I'm hoping I'll be singing a different tune once moved in and settled but at this point, I'm emotionally spent.
Running back and forth to the house several times a day, babysitting tradesmen, trying to run my business from home, raising three boys by myself (husband is putting in long hours at the house when not at work), it's all taking its toll.
There is just no time for everything that needs to get done.  Yesterday I plucked my eyebrows while waiting in the carpool line at school and I even fed my hungry kids shriveled hot dogs from 7-11 the other day.  Don't ask me the last time I took a shower.  Yes, life has sunk to a new low. I'm ready for life to resume some normalcy.

Here are a few beauties that I've been belly aching over.

Anemone Light: Blue Key Studios.

Wood paneling...still needs paint.

Faucet by Kohler.

Loving my new concrete counter top.
Mike from Just Add Water did a fab job...more about him soon.

Kohler Faucet.
I think I may attempt to tile the backsplash myself.

Marble surround went in and I'm LOVING it!
Mantle being built and still needs to be installed.
Thanks to Italia Granite and MGS By Design Fabricators for a fab job!
