Gentleman's Tea Party.

Last weekend our patio looked like this.
Seems to have become the dumping ground for left over building materials from our home remodel.

It all had to go because this patio was the venue site for a very important soiree.
We received a set of some groovy teal dishes from Target with an invitation to participate in Target's "Big Honkin' Summer Competition."  The run down goes like this..."use your creativity to show readers how they can create the perfect summer day by styling and decorating a scene with the summer products."  Most creative post will be featured on A Bullseye View, Target’s online magazine.
Cool.

So all our junk got moved to the basement and the patio got a facelift.

Time to throw a Gentleman's Tea Party.
Who said tea parties were just for girls?

This was no ordinary Tea Party.
It came complete with a dress codelinen napkins and NO girls allowed.

There wasn't any tea but the lemonade did have a really fizzy kick.

Target's Teal Striped Tumblers were decked out with lemon slices and a lollipop.

These boys had never been introduced to the concept of formal assigned seating designated by simple cardboard letter stencils found at the hardware store.

Teal Striped Dinner Plates added the perfect jumping off for the party's color scheme.

Served in Target's striped bowl & teal dipping bowl, the shrimp cocktail was received with mixed reviews.
Half the boys cheered and half the boys winced

An old a/v stand scored at a school auction was the perfect food and beverage cart
AND it was the perfect color.

On the menu was sandwiches with NO crusts

veggie sticks with dressing served in tall shot glasses
(which I ended up eating all of except for one...good boy, Bryson),

sweets, sweets and more sweets,

and blue koolaid served in Target's Teal Stripes Beverage Dispenser
I thought the stuff tasted like medicine but the boys loved it...go figure?

Lemon drops were served in tea light candle holders and covered with a glass cheese cover.

To disguise the brick wall, butcher paper was stapled to the ceiling trim
(found at a party store for $0.57 / 3 yards).

Yes, these boys feasted,

and giggled like little school girls,

and licked every last finger (so un-gentlemanly like).

Stories were told of worms and belching and skateboard tricks...

And they even went back for seconds.

These 4 Men had a jolly good time and are already talking about next year's Gentleman's Tea Party.
