samson and sons.

We just returned from 4 days in Vegas visiting Grandparents. My men always look forward to Vegas where G-ma Sai dote's on them with some good old fashioned spoiling. Suckers right after teeth have been brushed, chocolate milk with cereal, McDonalds for lunch, playing the "Wii" in to the "Wee" hours of the night. Who needs Disney Land?

Mom and I also spent some girl time gabbin and shoppin, shoppin and gabbin. Check out our loot...

The mirror was $10.00 and the chandelier was $5.00.
I plan to spray paint both. The mirror...maybe a chalkboard?

Vegas has WAY better thrift stores than Tucson. Ding, dong me forgot my camera. I found 3 harp back wood chairs with upholstered seats for $4.99 each, an old french wood desk with really pretty legs for $40.00 and a gold and glass end table for $10.00. If I had a trailer to haul it back to Tucson I would have bought it all...WHY? WHY? WHY?

My most exciting score of the trip...

You're not going to believe how much I paid for this. $5.00! Found it at a warehouse that sells old hotel furniture. See here. All the chairs in the parking lot are $5.00 because they are damaged in some way...again, ding dong me forgot her camera. No matter, since I plan to re-upholster it anyway (although I do love the thick, orangey corduroy). Maybe I'll enlist the inmates on this job.

Total SCORE!! Way to go -- camera or not!

So, I'm checking out the link for the liquidators and they're not giving up the prices online. any idea if they might be similar prices to what you saw?? Plus, I'm also wondering just how far they will deliver ... maybe NW Washington state? ;-)

Awesome finds! I really like that orange chair. How much do you estimate it would cost to have a chair like that recovered? I just bought a goodwill chair about that size for my baby's room.

That is one sexy chair (oh wait did I say that?)!!! I mean, Wow I love that chair and the lines are to die for (much better..I think)!! You always find the goods. BTW, how is it going with the prisoners reupholstering the wing back chairs?

LOVE that chair. GREAT lines! It was a great weekend for deals. I bought a Danish Mid-Century wood club chair for $2 at my church's white elephant sale. The same exact one was listed on Ebay for $175. It'll be on my blog soon. Thrift stores around here stink too. Maybe I'll start touring the local church sales! ;)

Oh man! I just recently found your blog via design*sponge and DEVOURED your archives. I love your dresser redo! Your home is beautiful, and so inspiring. It has given me some great ideas for my house.

I can't believe I didn't know we had a hotel liquidation store! We just moved to Las Vegas courtesy of the Air Force. I was so excited to thrift shop here, but I haven't found any great thrift stores. Would you mind sharing some of your sources? I promise not to spread the word too much. ;) My email is haselbride at gmail dot com. I'd love to hear your favorite places in this new city of mine.

I've been stalking similar chandeliers on craigslist... everytime I email on them they are gone! I have the same plan though... to spray paint it!

I spray painted my ugly white chandelier with that Krylon hammered metal paint and it turned out really good!

I LOVE everything that you bought! That chair is amazing. Love the idea of the inmates doing the reupholstery - I am looking online right now to see if there is a program where I live.

You had some great finds for sure! Maybe I need to head out to Vegas. Alabama thrift stores are just like they sound.

LOL Michelle! Loved your comment on my post...let's just say that we BOTH SCORED!! haha. Just came back from our own Thrift Stores after a long absence, and LOVED it! Found some great things...but what I love most is finding cool clothes that I'll alter and knowing it only cost me .50 cents means I won't have to rationalize it to Carl when I get home! haha

Although..... that orange corduroy is pretty awesome.

Ah Love! You found such great finds! The grass is always greener. I totally think everyone else has better thrift stores than me, but then I'm told that I have some great finds.

I would totally love a road trip in which I could a van or 2 or 3 filled to the brim with thrift store treasures.

So funny about the inmate thing. After you posted about it I tried searching for in in NY, but couldn't find anything!
