Well, I'm a guy and I first saw this movie when it original came out in 1968, when I was an eight-year-old. It floored me and has been my favorite movie ever since.
Planet of the Apes is most DEFINITELY a guy thing.

I have 3 men at home also - a great ape and two chimps - they can't get enough of these movies either! Do they know there is more than one? Might want to find it on Hulu or something and enjoy a few more moments of quiet...
