It all started out as a typical monsoon rain storm.

When our Palo Verde tree got ripped out of the ground and started spinning around in circles in the sky we decided to call it the Tucson Hurricane of 2010.

Neighbors all came out in disbelief to discuss the aftermath.
Stories of tiles being ripped off rooves, iron patio furniture being launched in the sky like marshmellows...no, this was no typical monsoon storm.

We later found our tree sitting in our neighbor's front yard who lives 8 houses down the street. Eh, we didn't like that tree much anyway.

That is crazy!! We had our huge tree ripped out a few years ago from a monsoon and it ended up blocking our entire front door so we couldn't get out of our house. Ya gotta love monsoons!

It is crazy! I once sat in a car with a tornado swirling around me. Thank goodness I couldn't see what was happening around me.

When it was over I was amazed I was still sitting in the same spot because of all the destruction around me.

I live in Gilbert, Az. I love the monsoon season. It turns all of here a bit crazy. The picture with your son looking out the window is cute. Glad it didn't damage anything.

Wow! That was some monsoon storm. The palo verde in front of our old house was hit by lightening. It was a crazy sight to come home to. We moved from Tucson last July so we missed most of the fun. We still miss seeing the beautiful lightening strikes though.

WOW! There's a fine line between dust devils and tornados, apparently. ;) Glad everyone is safe.

That doesn't sound like a hurricane but very much like a tornado! Crazy! It's common around this time here in Virginia. Glad everyone is safe!
