Exciting news...

When you come to my blog later this evening we will be offline.
But I'm sure you'll be doing much more interesting things than sitting at your computer blog surfing on New Year's eve.
While we're all ringing in the new year, Erin with Designer Blogs will be working through the night to bring you my new blog.  I'm finally making the switch from Blogger to Wordpress.  For the past month we've been collaborating on a new design and she'll be revealing it tomorrow.    I can't say enough great things about Erin and the job she's done.
So come back tomorrow for the reveal!

Keeping stainless steel appliances clean.

A while ago I was complaining about how difficult it is to keep stainless steel appliances clean.  Someone commented about a stainless steel cloth they use to clean their SS appliances which uses no chemicals.  Whaaaaat? I had to try it.  I found these Ecloth microfiber cloths on Zulily and bought one.  You get them slightly wet then wipe away.  I was skeptical but low and behold they worked like a charm.  No more fingerprints! No using chemicals (which I love)!

I've been wanting to get some more ever since I first saw them.
Today I just noticed that Zulily has them for sale again so I stocked up!

Sniffle, sniffle.

Old man flu came to visit 4 out of 5 of us this Christmas (the 5th member was the only one that got a flu shot this year).  We're enjoying laying around watching cartoons and watching the snow fall while we nurse ourselves back to health.

In the meantime, today I'm over at Rambling Renovators...

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas.

Our house is all a-buzz in anticipation for Santa.
It did get quiet momentarily when big, huge snowflakes started to fall from the sky.

There's something magical about snow on Christmas Eve.
  Merry Christmas friends!

Holiday Dinner Party.

Yesterday I told you about the beautiful hydrangeas I received from Flower Muse (here)...
Well they inspired me to throw a holiday dinner party.

The legos got stashed, kids went out with grandparents, and the Mr. and I got dressed up in our finest duds.

Deck the table with white, gold and black.

And lots of candle light.

This was a party with adults,

and adult conversation (that still managed to center around kids),

Food was savored rather than inhaled.

There was no spilled milk at the table.

And the napkins actually went on laps rather than tucked in the collar of shirts.

Great food, great company, great evening.

Flower Muse Hydrangeas.

A couple of weeks ago I was asked if I'd like to do a review on some hydrangeas by Flower Muse.  Uhhh, that's a no brainer.  So last Thursday, 2 boxes of the most GORGEOUS hydrangeas came to my door.
I'll be honest, I'm always nervous about flowers being shipped from out of state.  I get scared that they're going to arrive wilted, dried out and ruined.  But when I opened them they were perfectly garden to table fresh.

These hydrangeas were the largest I've ever seen.
Seriously, one flowered stem was as big as my whole face.

Being as large and as heavy as they were I used my trusty Frog Tape to make a grid on my vase and hold the stems in place.

These large white hydrangeas are so versatile and would be perfect for a dinner party, wedding or just to sit pretty on the table.

20 large white stemmed hydrangeas come in one box.

Which is more than enough for several arrangements.

My whole house is dripping with hydrangeas.

In another vase I put the Green Antique Hydrangeas in.
Some of the green ones had a hint of blush to them which I think is so pretty.

My home looks like a flower shop.
If you're looking for beautiful flowers you must check out Flower Muse.
I couldn't let these flowers go to waste so I was inspired to throw an impromptu holiday dinner party.
Pics tomorrow!

I was given flowers by Flower Muse to review.

Treasure Hunting Tuesday - Pedestal Plates.

For today's Treasure Hunting Tuesday we're re-visiting a project I did two years ago.
I put together plates and candle stick holders found at thrift stores, glued them together and made pedestal plates.  Here's how to do it...

Plates found at thrift stores + ...

Candlestick holders found at thrift stores + ...

Epoxy =
(Make sure to apply a generous amount of epoxy to the plate then attach the candlestick holder to the plate).

Super easy.
Would make a great gift this holiday season!
