Sick day.

Today my youngest son and I blew all sorts of interesting stuff out of our noses.

Then we sat around and played Mario Bros until we were cross eyed.

I watched my belly grow bigger and bigger.

He was hooked up to this thing which never really did seem to help that narly cough.

All while my husband and oldest son basked in 70 degree weather at the PGA Accenture Golf Match down the street.

Since when did golfers trade in their plaid nickers and transform in to this?

Dang.
We shoulda bucked up and gone.

NOVICA giveaway.

I am SO excited to host the latest giveaway sponsored by Novica for a $50.00 gift certificate! They have the most unique finds from home decor to jewelry and handbags to corporate gifts.

For many years, artisans around the world tried to obtain loans so they could expand their businesses. Unfortunately, most could not obtain loans, and when they did, the interest rates were very high. Novica cut out all the financial middlemen and took the matter into their own hands by launching the microfinance website where customers can purchase products and lend money directly to artisans. With no middlemen involved in the process, these Artisan Loans will carry 0% interest. Not only can you purchase unique and "eco-friendly, green treasures" from some very gifted artisans but you can also sponsor their businesses by loaning them funds for their trade.

Check out some of my favorite picks from their site:

To enter the giveaway for the $50.00 gift certificate:

Lacquer Trays.

Lacquered trays are all the rage these days.

While at Target I found this Easter tray for $2.50 in the dollar section.

I sprayed it with primer and paint.

My own little lacquered tray.

Treasure Hunting.

Saturday morning, 9:18am we set our GPS to lead us in to the unknown with hopes of finding something "really cool".

Somewhere in this Arizona desert lay three hidden treasures, aka Geocaches, that we were bound and determined to find.

Not familiar with Geocaching? I wasn't either until last Christmas.

"Geocaching is a high-tech treasure hunting game played throughout the world by adventure seekers equipped with GPS devices. The basic idea is to locate hidden containers, called geocaches, outdoors and then share your experiences online." -(Geocahing website).

So due north we went in to nature's playground.

A few moments later our GPS told us we were within 5 feet of the Cache.
We hunted high and low then spotted a little canister in the tree.

Along with a log book the instructions inside told us to take the coin (from Canada) and leave another international coin of equal or greater value.

After we exalted in our find as we set off to find the next Cache.

I spotted it first.

This one was bigger.

And it was loaded with instructions, a log book and loot perfect for little boys.

Again, take a treasure, leave some treasure.

This cache was started in 2007!

After we checked the Geocaching website we discovered that these Caches are hidden EVERYWHERE!
We're hooked!
The perfect aventure for these men and their pregnant mamma!

Happy Valentine's Day!

The Mr. surprised us with pink sprinkled donuts.

Nothing says "I love you" like a donut (especially when you're pregnant)!

"Yeah baby!"

Valentine's Treat for You.

Ahhh, Valentine's Day...
The anticipation of Matt E. giving me a Valentine in 5th grade.
The butterflies when he actually gave me one w/ He-Man saying he'd kiss the ground I walk on.

No generic Spider Man Valentine's this year.
I made these personalized Valentine's using the photo editing software Picnik.

I took several photos of my boys then experiemented with color vs. black and white.

Thanks to "I Am Momma Here Me Roar" Blog for the idea. Tutorial found here.

The look for less in a surprising place.

I've always loved the little side table sitting next to Tia Zolden on the left of this picture.

(Image via Little Green Notebook).

The other day I went in to Kohl's for socks and came out with this side table.

Check out how much I paid...

I was also surprised to spot some other chic finds:

The best part is these are all at least 40% off right now.

Kohl's...who knew?!
