Update on Cali.

Our family has been absolutely overwhelmed by the outpouring of well wishes and prayers for Cali.
 Here is an update:

Cali going in to cardiac arrest was caused by Amniotic Fluid Embolism, a very rare and dangerous condition. Unfortunately doctors had to take the baby in order to save Cali's life. Shortly after the surgery Cali began to hemorrhage badly and more emergency surgery had to be performed.

The very good news is that she is stable and awake today. Doctors are positive and we can't help but feel that many, MANY prayers have been answered. She still has a physical, mental and emotional road to recovery ahead of her but she is here and that is most important.

We can't thank you enough for all your support.
We know that your prayers had a huge hand in her recovery.

Prayers needed.

My heart is heavy right now as my sister-in-law, Cali is in the hospital.
You may remember I've talked about this sweet girl before and her first baby Mac.
Unfortunately, she has not been dealt the most desirable hand in life.
She is expecting her third child and last night she went in to cardiac arrest due to amniotic fluid traveling to her heart.  She was life-flighted to the hospital where she is fighting for her life.  Unfortunately, they are going to have to take her baby at 20 weeks. We are praying and pleading for her recovery.

The prayer power has never been tried to its full capacity…if we want to see mighty wonders of divine power and grace wrought in the place of weakness, failure and disappointment, let us answer God’s standing challenge, “Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things which thou knowest not. ~ J. Hudson Taylor

More about her story here.

Life is like a bowl of cherries...

Our neighbor has a cherry tree.
A few branches hang over in to our yard.
Having lived their entire lives in the desert (where very little grows), my men were enamored by the idea that one can grow food in your own backyard.
They've been patiently impatiently waiting for the cherries to ripen.

A drawing table right under the cherry tree seemed like a neat idea to pass the time and illustrate on paper the ripening process day by day.

The day finally came where the cherries didn't make you pucker and were ripe enough to pick.

If the branch hangs in our yard doesn't that mean they're fair game?

Maybe I'll take a crack at my first cherry pie or two.

Then take one to the neighbor to say thanks!
