Boys' room makeover.

I posted a couple months ago about my efforts to makover the boys' room. I'm finished. Both our boys have names that have to do with the wind and water so I picked pieces that had a nautical / ocean theme. Thanks again Tim for cutting these shelves down! Can't forget a place for the bouncy ball collection.
Found these rocks on the beach in San Diego.

I was trying to make these numbers look like the numbers printed on a big spinaker sail. 4 represents the the year my oldest was born. 7 the year my youngest was born.

This burlap potato sack has nothing to do with the water. It's the other side of the burlap I cut up and used for that fancy frame project I did. It had the right colors that coordinated with the rest of the room so I covered it with an old bulletin board.

I found this book/magazine shelf for $12.00 at an estate sale a few months ago and it was already fire engine red.

Can't forget about my DIY headboards!

My boys picked out things that were full of bright, bold color...something that I'm not very comfortable decorating with. But it's their space so bring on the color. The room is small but has a really nice feel. We're all happy!

LOVE IT ALL--especially the red book shelf. I've been looking for one like that for Bryson's room.

LOVE IT! Just copy and paste it to my boys room. It looks so nice. I'll have to come by and see it in person one of these days.

Excellent work! Colors are good. I remember all the balls in the jar. Once Tani and I walked to Basha and raided the ball machine- nearly cost me five dollars in quaters to get all the balls out!!!LOL. Good Works.

Hi Michelle!
I have to say you are a decorating genius! I'm learning so much from your blog!! Thanks for all the Laie tips. We have had shrimp scampi and oh my goodness I almost died and went to heaven! I felt like I need a bath afterwards though to get all that butter off! I can't wait for shave ice...that is next on our list! There have been lots of bigs waves lately and I have been picturing you guys wind surfing! I am excited to keep in touch and get more decor ideas!!

I found your site through Olive Rue and so glad I did. Can you tell? I guess I've spent quite a while here since I'm clear back to your boy's room. Love your eye for design. Just beautiful! I'm adding you to my feed. Maybe I'll find some time to look further, but for now I need to get something done before my kindergartener comes home. BTW I live in Syracuse, Utah. Love it here! Hope you had an awesome visit. Thanks for inspiring me.

I wish I could decorate my son's room in a nautical theme, but he's got his own ideas of what he wants and right now it's WWE and drums. He's seven!
