Christmas at our house.

Christmas doesn't all have to be about red and green.

In fact, it provides for less predictability in your decor (and makes your step father question what you were thinking).

While in Vegas my mom and I made made our own stockings.
(Fabric from IKEA).

Found these mirrored trees at a thrift store.

I had visions of a black and white Christmas paired with silver accents.
With the left over fabric we made initials for everyone in our family.
I printed 475 point, Century font on the computer. Then traced the letters on doubled fabric. We put a piece of poster board between the fabric and secured it with spray glue to make the letters stiff then cut the initials out.

I made tons of DIY UNBREAKABLE snow flakes made of pipe cleaners. Of course the boys think they're Chinese stars. Instructions here.

Merry Christmas to all!

I saw you on the Nate Berkus show last week. It may have been a rerun, but you did such a great job. I love your home, especially the striped entry.

It was cool seeing somebody I "know" on the show.

How do you take such great pics of your ideas and house? Is there a special setting on your camera or are these professional?
